When in Bordeaux you must visit Cap Ferret. First stop. The lighthouse (La phase du Cap Ferret)Then we drove a little further and parked the car (boulevard de La Plage ). This beach has a view of the Dune of Pilat, which is the largest sand dune in Europe. A small stroll along the shore and you are at L’herbe, the oyster farmers village. Stop off and enjoy some of the freshest oysters around. €49 it cost us for four people- 12 oysters, shrimps, terrine, bread(for those that can eat it) and white wine. We ate at La Baraque a Huitres The ambiance and the taste…… from there we walked back past our car to see the La Chapelle de La Villa Algerienne (moorish style chapel)

Rouen…… it’s amazing when you see architecture from 1300’s Frances oldest inn Circa 1345 with the blue café umbrellas in front. Gros horlage (clock) , L’ossuaire, Joan of arc-where she was tried and burned at the stake…..this town has it all
