HOMEMADE QUICK AND EASY PALEO BULLETPROOF COFFEE

This quick and easy Paleo Bulletproof Coffee, is easy to make at home and a staple in our household for a few years now. Even more so now, with building and renovating our house and the hectic pace of life in this day and age. No two cups are the same.  It’s easy to make, and a lot more economic to make at home. I have been adding adaptogenic herbs from Superfeast which help support my body .  This recipe  is customisable to suit your body and your needs. It had been shared by myself a while back on one of my Instagram posts so I thought it would be easier to have it for quick reference on my website.

Now because of my IBD (inflamed bowel disease) I cannot have caffeine so I opt for decaf coffee, but its up to you as to the type of coffee you use. On the Internet there are various recipes  for bulletproof coffee, some of which use butter but for us who can’t have dairy then  use coconut oil, MCT oil or both.  For me and my condition I have found that if I have a bulletproof coffee first thing in the morning I’m right till about 1 pm when I eat my first meal. I find it gives me energy and sustains me for a few hours.  So if you’re one of these people that either don’t have time in the mornings to eat or don’t like to eat,  then give this a go. As I said you can change it to suit you, your tastebuds and your lifestyle.

I’ve given a few other suggestions as to additives like turmeric and cinnamon, Nut Butters, etc.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Coffee (Black )
1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon Raw Cacao (antioxidant boost)

1 tablespoon Collagen Hydrolysate or Collagen Peptides (don”t use if Vegan)
sweetener of choice (I use Raw Honey or Maple Syrup)
1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon MCT oil (optional)

*You can also add adaptogenic herbs. These can have a bitter taste so adjust sweetener to suit. Turmeric and/or cinnamon can also be added.
For something a little different use 1 Tablespoon nut butter like almond or cashew  or cacao butter(melted) .

Put into blender the black coffee, cacao, coconut oil, collagen, honey, MCT oil and/ or any substitutes you like
