STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE BOWLS
Strawberry smoothie bowls are a healthy alternative to cereal and who doesn’t love berries. For me, strawberries are synonymous with summer. The sweet scent and juicy fruit is hard to resist. This creamy and cool bowl full of deliciousness will not only delight your senses but will satisfy that urge for something sweet
Strawberries are rich in antioxidants and plant compounds and may have benefits for heart health and blood sugar control.
Avocado contain high levels of healthy, beneficial fats. They are a great source of vitamins as well as omega 3 fatty acids.
Hemp seeds contain high levels of antioxidants which are great for the heart, skin and joints. They also contain fatty acids, minerals and vitamins.
When I make smoothie bowls I use my optimum blender by froothie. It is a high speed blender and makes light work of pureeing frozen fruits, nuts and seeds.
Just put all your ingredients into the blender jug, press the sorbet function and off it goes, in just over a minute it’s ready. You will sometimes need to use the plastic tamper to push down the frozen fruits.What you end up with is a thick puree similar to soft serve ice cream yet so much healthier and a lot less sugar.
I like to top mine with some of the vanilla nut granola from my cookbook ‘COOK food EAT clean LIVE happy ‘. I like adding different toppings on top. Things like hemp seeds, cacao coated almonds, goji berries, fresh berries and sometimes just a little bit of dark, dairy free chocolate.

INGREDIENTS
2 Frozen Bananas
2 slightly rounded cups of frozen Strawberries
½ cup Coconut milk or your favourite plant based milk
½ Avocado
2 tablespoons Hemp Seeds
1-2 teaspoons Stardust brand Longevity nutrient powder (beetroot, blueberry, pomegranate, strawberry and acai powders)
1 tablespoon Collagen Powder, optional
METHOD – STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE BOWLS
Using a high speed blender add all ingredients and blend until smooth. *If too stiff you can add a little extra milk, you want it to be consistency of ice cream.
Divide mixture between two bowls and add your favourite toppings, I have included some suggestions.
